As of December 2025, I’m stepping into my twelfth year of photography, and my gratitude still grows with every one. I went freelance in December of 2014, and I’m still pleasantly surprised, year after year, by where this path has led. I love making photographs more than ever, and I feel incredibly lucky to call this my job. So if you’ve ever shared my work, offered a kind word, assisted on a shoot, recommended me to someone, or trusted me enough to hire me… thank you. Truly.

I had some incredibly special and fun projects this year that I’m excited to share, but more than any of the work itself, 2025 stands out as my favorite year yet at home and on the road with my family. I’m endlessly grateful that photography has given me the gift of experiencing new places alongside my wife and kiddos and if you make this to the bottom of this novel of a recap I had such a fun time collecting images together from a bucket list year in the Chin household. Thank you for taking a moment to look back with me and celebrate a few favorite projects and family moments from 2025.

Once again this year, starting 2025 with a client like Bose was really unfair. I had so many incredible projects this year but to say any of them made me feel as giddy and “I’ve really made it” as Bose would be a lie. I was a small part in a probably 40-50+ person crew on this shoot but it’s such a thrill to be part of a large crew like this where everyone gets to really hyper-focus on their one thing. The creative and production was so strong on this shoot that it would honestly have been hard to make bad photos here, but I’m really proud of my small role in things here and I love the photos so much. I recall having a huge ear-to-ear grin on my face every time I would look back at the monitor at what we were getting throughout the three days on set because I just truly love these images and it’s exactly the type of thing I love doing most. More of this, please.

2025 marked my second year of helping Oade with creative direction, photo, and my first foray into some video work as well! I deeply love what we get to work on with Oade - from shooting the people and places behind the farming, production, and bottling in France, to shooting with partners and collaborators in Napa, merch and e-comm work in my kitchen at home, as well as launch events around the country, it was a busy year and it shows. I love how expansive and rich in texture and place the images and videos feel. I’m looking forward to building this even more in 2026!

This was my second year doing some work with Winn Dixie it is always such a good time. This year’s big shoot was particularly fun with a more comedic tone to the video ad they were shooting, which lended a lot of playfulness to many of the scenes I shared with them. I love the scale of what we’ve been able to work on in our short time so far and I love the images we made this year. Another huge thank you to the team at Push and to Winn Dixie for trusting me on such an epic project.

It’s probably coming up on a decade that I’ve been regularly with Anna and Nathan from Rifle Paper Co. and every time I’m as excited as the last. They’re one of the things that make me most proud to live in Winter Park, and I have so much admiration for the company and culture they’ve built. I’ve lost track of how many times we’ve done this together now but it’s at least enough that we now have a enjoyable rhythm and system to how we do things. This year featured a really fun location shoot in Nantucket amongst our usual studio shoots at their space in Winter Park. My first real photo gig back in 2012 was a studio gig and I love the pace and controlled nature of how the Rifle team likes to work in the studio.

Continuing the local work trend here… I was fortunate to start working with regional BBQ chain, Sonny’s, back in 2023 and it’s easily one of my favorite teams to shoot with. As much as I love traveling and location work, I’m always extra excited to find fulfilling work close to home. This was my second year shooting on a regular, once-ish a quarter, type of rhythm with Sonny’s and I’m so proud of what we captured in our handful of days we did throughout 2025. “It takes a village” and these shoots had so many hands involved I wouldn’t even know where to begin to thank everyone but I can’t wait to do it again next year, y’all!

When I was first brought down to help make photos for The Boca Raton I couldn’t have guessed that they would become one of my most frequent clients but it’s hard to imagine a better place to find yourself regularly. The Boca Raton just does everything well and I’ve been lucky enough to have a hand in photographing virtually every element of it’s five unique hotels, countless amenities, and to die for food and beverage outlets over our last four years working together.

This project with Lunara Bay was an absolute dream. Our large crew shared a (very large) house on the water for almost a week and it was such a blast for my extroverted self - it felt like Summer camp. Beyond just being a good time though, I am really proud of the work we made together. We went sun-up to sun-down every day but I left feeling so recharged both physically and creatively. I can’t recommend this place enough for a fun group trip; I’m such a fan now.

I did two vastly different shoots this year for Discover Puerto Rico, and both were so, so memorable. The first was a campaign to showcase the San Juan airport where we were working in extremely live environments in and around the airport and the second was a travel and tourism ad featuring Los Angeles Dodgers superstar, Kike Hernandez. Getting to spend a little over a week in Puerto Rico with my family after that first job gave me a deep love and reverence for the island and it’s easily one of the most special travel experiences I’ve had with them.

Ok, another wild one for me here, but when 321 asked me in 2024 if I’d be interested in shooting for the Brightline I basically begged on my hands and knees to be a part of this. I was so excited a few years back when Brightline finally opened in Florida and I’ve been a regular customer since it first launched, so being able to again help make photos for them in 2025 was a dream come true. I feel a bit like a little kid still with how much I still love being around things like trains or planes so the fact that not only did we shoot in station in Orlando and West Palm but also on a moving train was such a thrill for me. It’s a fun scramble and dance each time on the shoot day moving a large crew around while sticking to strict train schedules but it went so smooth and I’m really proud of the photos we made.

OK, now for the best part … more than anything else, I’m grateful for another year of fun memories with my family. We’ve made it a habit to try to say “yes” to experiences and a good number of my work trips were flexible enough (and kind enough) to allow for me to bring along my family. I mentioned this in the little top blurb but I think this year past year will be hard to top in terms of how many bucket list type of trips and experiences we had - between us all going to the Formula 1 race in Miami, flying around on a tiny plane while spending a week in Puerto Rico, lounging in luxury in Key West with a bunch of our closest friends, our first full family ski trip, to skipping out on Thanksgiving at home to spend a week in New York doing the parade and skating in Rockefeller, we stayed busy and had so many “firsts”. This year our littlest, August, turned four, Ansel turned eight, and our tween Harper turned twelve. I still can’t believe I have an twelve year old! I love being a dad to them more than I can express, and I love doing it with Kimberly. Looking back at these pictures I really feel like I’m getting to live the dream. I’m unbelievably thankful for all of the time together and all of the memories we made in 2025 and it’s only as rich as it is because of my family.
